A Cambelt or ‘Timing Belt’ change is one of the most important aspects of maintaining your car, if you neglect it – you could end up needing a new engine.
The Volkswagen Group recommend most VW, Audi, SEAT and Škoda engines must have their cambelt changed between every 60,000 to 80,000 miles or 4/5 years depending on engine type.

USEFUL CONSIDERATIONS
Many of the VW Audi group engines have cambelt driven water pumps which as many people know are prone to breaking causing engine over heating, possible head gasket failure and severe engine damage. If your water pump is cambelt driven we recommend you change this at the same time as the cambelt. In addition this is the ideal time to flush your coolant system and replace with new VAG approved G12 coolant to protect your engine.
